HOW CAN A MYOTHERAPIST HELP DURING MY PREGNANCY?

During pregnancy, your body undergoes rapid change in a relatively short period of time. These changes include an increase in blood volume, hormonal changes, weight gain, and a shift in your center of gravity, all of which impact the entire body including your muscles, ligaments and joints.

A myotherapist can help with aches, pains, lack of movement, instability and more using safe and effective treatment techniques including:

 

Pregnancy massage

Trigger point therapy

Passive stretching

Joint mobilisation

Gentle vacuum cupping

Dry needling techniques

We are experienced and have extra training and knowledge in pregnancy treatments and use various techniques to help with pregnancy related pain, movement restriction, stiffness, postural pain or injury.

WHAT ABOUT PILATES?

All of our Pilates classes are pregnancy friendly! 

While we don’t offer pre and post-natal classes specifically, we do offer pre and post-natal alterations to all our classes to cater to any stage of pregnancy.

 

As all our instructors are Myotherapists, we understand the stages of pregnancy and what exercises expecting mums should be working on in preparation of birth and beyond. We use this extra knowledge to guide you through the session with appropriate exercises.

 

Our group classes consist of only 5 participants, to ensure we have the ability to spend time with each individual.

For post natal, we recommend commencing your first class back as a 1:1 so we can asses how you are recovering after birth. After that we can again tailor your class to your level and what exercises are most appropriate depending upon your birth and recovery.

CAN I SEE A MYOTHERAPIST AT ANY STAGE OF PREGNANCY?

Yes! A myotherapist can assist you through all trimesters. We use appropriate treatment techniques and positioning for the stage of pregnancy that you are in.
